Summer 2020 CHE 101 Assignment 1 Submission

All students taking CHE 101 (Fundamentals of Chemistry) for the Summer 2020 semester are advised to submit the following assignment as part of the regular assignments. All the Assignments are based on lectures 1-3.

The topics for assignment 1 are as below:

  • What is the difference between Accuracy and precision?
  • Chang chapter 1 questions: 1.2, 1.3, 1.17, 1.18, 1.19.
  • Chang Chapter 2 questions: 2.1, 2.13, 2.14, 2.15, 2.16, 2.17, 2.18, 2.25, 2.26, 2.28, 2.31, 2.33, 2.34, 2.35, 2.41, 2.42, 2.47, 2.48.
  • Chang Chapter 2 questions: 2.59, 2.72, 2.73, 2.74.
  • Draw the structures of
    A. Methanol to pentanol
    B. Methanoic Acid to Pentanoic Acid
  • Chang Chapter 2 examples 2.2 – 2.7
  • Draw the orbital diagram for atoms with atomic number 1 to 30.
  • Chang chapter 7 questions: 7.48, 7.50, 7.55, 7.56, 7.62, 7.71, 7.72, 7.73, 7.75
  • Chang Chapter 8 questions: 8.1, 8.5, 8.8, 8.17, 8.18, 8.19, 8.23, 8.27, 8.28, 8.33, 8.43, 8.47.
  • Chang Chapter 9 questions: 9.3, 9.4, 9.6, 9.7, 9.8, 9.16, 9.21, 9.23, 9.31, 9.32, 9.33, 9.34, 9.35, 9.37, 9.38, 9.65, 9.67.

 

The last date to submit this assignment is August 9, 2020, Sunday, 11:59 PM. All the assignments must be handwritten and scanned and sent as PDF files.

The procedure to submit assignments is as follows:

  • Prepare your assignment by scanning the handwritten assignments and converting them to PDF. The pages should be in order. I will not make the effort to check misordered files. All the pages should be in a single PDF file.
  • Rename your file as CHE101Assignment1-2001030200XX.pdf, where the last 12 digits are your registration number. Any other format of naming will not be allowed and will not be considered for grading.
  • Send your assignment to the following address shparvez@neub.edu.bd. There is no need to CC or send any copy to my other email address.
    • The subject line of your email should read as CHE 101 Assignment 1 Summer 2020 by 2001030200XX . Where the last 12 digits are your registration number. Any other format will eliminate the chance of your email to reach the correct folder of my email.
